[huge_it_share]Greetings one and all, Smithers is back in the man cave and taking a break from all things festive – there’s only so many carol services and mince pies I can stomach before I start craving my usual miserable git normality.
We’ve had a busy Autumn/Winter season here at Smithers and almost trebled our database of glorious customers and followers.
No one has been more surprised than me that our growing address book has been inclusive of a healthy smattering of celebrities. And I’m talking proper A-List stuff – no reality Muppets who are just famous for being famous. Our red carpets lovelies are the real deal.
Now whilst I’d love to share all and sundry with you lovely people, we are nothing if not professional at Smithers so I’m afraid our clients privacy will very much be remaining in tact. I’ve never been one for naming and shaming (ladies – you know who you are) and besides, I can’t face being sued.
We will however be looking at the fabulous items purchased by our Hollywood friends in order to keep you lovely lot ahead of the game when it comes to celebrity styling. Our very first celebrity sale was that of the Batman Comic Drawers – not a huge surprise considering these drawers are a great statement piece and add just the right amount of comic strip cool to any space.
The classic French style chest bombe offers ultimate longevity, whilst the comic book exterior never fails to raise a smile. The chrome handles are a touch of class and sleek finish is smoother than Batmans rubber suit. What’s not to love?!
We have very small numbers available in the Comic Collection now so don’t fight the temptation to add a drop of celebrity furniture comic styling to your home.
Next up on the A-List agenda is Robots. You know of my deep rooted love for anything slightly robotic and it turns out I’m not alone with one of our Robot families now enjoying rather more lavish surroundings than that of Smithers HQ.
Sadly we’ve sold out of the Baby Bot but Mum and Dad are still available and their eye catching colours work equally well in a simple, minimalist space or bright, vibrant home.
It takes a lot to surprise Mr Smithers but even I had to pinch myself when the sale details came through of our Vintage Feature Presentation Sign. Needless to say, I’ve now got one up in the man cave! We have an awesome range of retro signs including Whiskey Bar, Cold Beer and Bakery but the Feature Presentation guarantees cinema styling with a celebrity twist for any TV room.
I never imagined in a million years we’d be emailing and packaging up a French Bulldog Sailor Cushion to this red carpet beauty but can now happily tick it off my bucket list. We love a nautical theme but who knew our little Frenchie would also come packed with star studded appeal?!
We offer a handsome range of top quality cushion covers showcasing Labradors, Pugs and Jack Russell’s, Tigers, Giraffe tapestry designs for all you Animal lovers out there. You can never have enough cushions (Kevin McCloud says so) therefore you will also find military themed African animals, tattoo art and patriotic Union Jacks available in our Fancy Store.
Our next star studded sale came in the shape of an unexpected double purchase and the items in questions couldn’t been more apt for the uber cool fella buying.
If alpha male design is your preferred choice of styling, then believe me, you’re in very good company.
Our Strong Man Bookends and Trio of Climbing Men Wall Art are part of a brilliant new collection at Smithers and now reside in this A-Listers New York home.
These dramatic pieces are available in bronze or distressed silver and suggest a clear understanding of the male form through still motion. No mean feat.
The Devalle Button Chair is our next select piece to achieve celebrity status. This stylish little leather number was packaged up and shipped out across the Atlantic to an amazing actress of equal style and beauty.
Our quirky bucket seat boasts of modern design with a strong acknowledgement towards the classic styling of a Chesterfield. A perfect piece to showcase modern day vintage living at its very best.
We don’t exactly do things by halves at Smithers and are big fans of anything that breaks from the norm, so it will come as no surprise that one of our filing units comes in the form of our Petrol Pump Cabinet and its this quirky piece that now resides in the not so humble abode of a rather famous American Basket player.
Handmade from solid iron and standing at a striking 1.8 metres tall with a working Esso light, this gas cabinet is all about retro illumination. Popular with automobile enthusiasts, fans of American styling and the odd A-Lister, this vintage decor pump demands attention in any space and doesn’t disappoint.
You might accuse me of being slightly biased but I reckon this red carpet lot have got pretty good taste and between them have created a somewhat desirable Smithers collection.
To be honest, it doesn’t matter to me if our clients are from Hollywood or Harlow – we value all our lovely customers equally. I guess the truth is we all have hero’s or people we admire from afar and to know you share an appreciation for something is strangely pleasant.
A common interest with someone you feel has achieved great things is always going to be considered a bonus. That and the fact we’re all nosey sods at heart! Our clientele is growing by the day so I’m sure I’ll be back in no time at all with an update on celebrity styling but I’m hoping this has wet your appetite enough to make that A-List purchase.
We’re always on hand at Smithers to offer advice on homewares or decor so just holler if we can be of service. Right I’d best be off – David Beckham’s just left me a voicemail about festive
drinks next week.?
Until next time my friends,
Mr Smithers.
